A Small Project bag-Tasha

Asalam Alaikum,

I have finally finished the bag that I was working on-

If I make another bag, I am definitely going to make the handle first, for this bag all the pieces worked up really fast except the handle. It was kind of repetitive and I would do a couple rows then get bored. It was totally worth the wait though, I really like this bag.

Pattern-Tasha, from Knitty
Yarn-Plymouth Yarn Fantasy Naturale Solid, which was left over from my February Lady Sweater
Needles-US 5
Modifications-I did not make the sides or the bottom ribbed, I lined it with interfacing and a printed cotton fabric.

I like it a lot, it works really well as a project bag for my WIPs.

Clifton Beach

Asalam Alaikum,

Yesterday we went to Clifton Beach, since it was the middle of the week it was not busy at all.

We collected some shells-

And played in the water, Saad especially liked the waves and wasn't afraid at all.

The highlight of our day had to be the camel ride-

Saad and I rode on one of the many camels that are everywhere on the beach, along with my sister-in-law and her eldest child.

The saddle of the camel is covered in a brightly covered blanket, with a fan shaped stand on the back, the whole thing is covered in sequins, ruffles, tassels, and beads.

There were horses too, but we didn't get near them as I am very allergic to them.

After we left the Beach, we were pretty hungry, so we went for pizza.

There were many place to eat on the beach that served more traditional Pakistani type snacks but we haven't had Dominoes in a while, since it is a bit of a drive to the closest one from where we live.

Of course there was knitting while we waited for our pizza-

Finally halal peperoni-MMMMMMMM!

Chicken McNuggets

Asalam Alaikum

Since the day I took my Shahada almost four years ago I have only eaten halal meat. I have been craving a chicken Mcnugget for the longest time. The problem is that everyone in the family prefers Burger King or KFC, so I always get out voted when we go out for fast food. With everybody else taking a small vacation in Abu Dhabi, We finally got to go to Mcdonalds.

Yay for Mcdonalds-

First Mcnugget in four years-

Saad's first Happy Meal-

Totally not impressed with Ronald McDonald-

Vroooom Vroooom!!!

Asalam Alaikum

Our current bike is a Honda 50. It is very little, and Tariq is almost six feet tall, so he feels(and looks) a bit funny while riding it. The 50 belonged to his grandfather and he says it is at least 30 years old. It is a hard working little bike, and I kind of like it. We go everywhere on it, and Saad adores riding on the "broom broom".

But Tariq decided he wanted a bigger bike. He wanted a Honda 125, but he was very specific. It can't be brand new because this bike is very popular in our area and he didn't want to risk being bike jacked. It also couldn't be so old that it would be in the shop every other week. After eight months of looking he found it it is a 2003 model, good condition but not too good. He is so happy with the bike.
